The Situation
The client spent the majority of their career working in investment banking and private equity in London. Despite enjoying their current role, they wanted to relocate to New York City to continue their PE career, but their employer did not have a USA presence. They contacted Rossetti Advisors to support them in their job search.
The Process
Having worked in PE in both London and the USA, Charlie was able to coach the client on the similarities and differences in working on deals in each geography. They developed a scheme to help him uncover relevant PE opportunities in NYC. Furthermore, Charlie wrote a script to position the client's network and deal experience as highly relevant in the USA and identify the unique ways he could add value at each of the respective firms he was interview with.
The Result
The client was ultimately able to make the transition to NYC after less than a year of searching and at a comparable middle market firm to the one he worked for in the UK. In one case, Charlie's inside knowledge of internal struggles at a firm enabled the client to avoid joining a fund that was in the process of imploding due to partnership disagreements.
